Let us be really honest now: Should we love our country more than our neighbor?

This question I want to address to my friends who call themselves followers of Christ. I consider my self a person who loves my country. I think that I am lucky to have been brought up in Sweden. It is a safe and peaceful place to live in. Whenever Sweden plays soccer or ice hockey I believe my wife (being Russian) even think I am a nationalist J . When it comes to sports and being happy when your national team wins is no big deal and have no real value. But, when your nationalism and patriotism tries to stop people who are running away from war and death then it goes beyond my understanding. Daniel Forslund wrote an article in the Christian newspaper, Dagen  (in Swedish) and there he writes that he doesn’t see any opposition between being a Christian and loving your motherland and I agree with him. But, loving your motherland so much that it shuts the door for a person in despair doesn’t rime well with what a follower of Christ should do. If we are followers of Christ, we have

“Does God love everyone?”

Today, there is one theme that is on the news 24/7 as well in Sweden but also in the rest of Europe and that is the refugees that are fleeing Syria (as well as other war zones). Many of them are trying to get to Europe and especially Germany and also Sweden. Some people want to let more people in while others say, “stop!”  Most of these poor people who are fleeing their home country do so because of ISIS. ISIS is extremely evil and they are torturing, abusing and killing Christians and others who don’t agree with them.  There are people in Sweden and elsewhere that says that a big percentage of Muslims agree with ISIS and would be happy to fight with them – I do not agree. I think that most of the Muslims are cultural Muslims who say that they are so since they were born in a Muslim country, but they don’t agree with ISIS at all.  But now, I want to come to the question I want to ask: Does God loves the people that are agreeing with ISIS and even participating in torturing and
